Now that you have received Jesus as your Savior, here are some important steps to help you grow in your relationship with Him.

  • Tell others of your experience with Jesus.

Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

  • Read your Bible daily.

Psalms 19:7-11, The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.Pray daily.

  • Talk to God and listen for His answers.

Luke 18:1, One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

  • Receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:4, And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

John 20:22, "Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit."

  • Attend a Bible-believing church regularly.

Acts 2:42, All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

Hebrews 10:25, And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

  • Be baptized in water.

Matthew 28:19, Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

  • Repent quickly when you sin.

1 John 1:9-10, But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

  • Spend time with other Christians who love Jesus.

1 John 1:7, But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

  • Serve God by helping people in and out of the church.

Galatians 5:13-14, For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

  • Give financially into the work of the ministry through tithes and offerings.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. 7 You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”
